Basel has two train stations: the main station Basel SBB / SNCF and Basel DB, the German Railway station ("Badischer Bahnhof").

The University of Basel main building can be reached by bus no. 30 that connects Basel SBB (Hauptbahnof) and Basel Badischer Bahnhof (German Railway station). ► Get off at station "Spalentor".

• By car

If traveling from the A2/A3, follow road signs to Basel-Süd/City, Exit Basel-Süd/West Universitätsspital, Universitätsspital and City-Parking. List of car parks. We recommend the use of public transport.

• By plane

From the Basel International Airport (BSL, Euroairport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg) take public bus no. 50 to the Basel (SBB) train station. There, change to bus no 30, get off at «Spalentor».

From Zurich Airport there are frequent and direct trains to Basel SBB train station (approx. 75 min. ride). Type «Zürich Flughafen»: https://www.sbb.ch/en/timetable.html

Arrival by public transport

The Spalentor stop is located in the immediate vicinity of the University main building where the conference will be held. See box "Conference venue" on the right with map of conference locations.

Spalentor stop is served by streetcar (tram) 3 and bus lines 30 and 33.
Bus line 30 connects the Basel SBB train station and with the Basel German train station (DB  "Badischer Bahnhof").
Tickets must be purchased at the ticket machine.

Note: Participants staying in a hotel in Basel will receive a BaselCard from their hotel. The card offers free rides on the public transportation system in the city of Basel (and additional benefits).

Youth Hostel Basel, Maja Sacher-Platz 10, Basel (30 min walking distance, 20 min with public transport)

For conference participants, we blocked a few rooms in the Youth Hostel Basel (until 15 May) on a first come first served basis.
